Aajeevika Bureau seeks to recruit two experienced and committed colleagues to join the India Labourline (ILL) as Case Managers. The India Labourline is a phone and field-based programme to provide information, counselling, distress support, and legal aid to informal workers throughout India. It is also a powerful Grievance Redressal Forum to address labour rights violations faced by all categories of waged and self-employed workers in construction, factories, urban services, garments & textiles, farm work, street vending, and other sectors. ILL helps thousands of workers resolve their wage disputes and ensures that they do not lose their rightful earnings to fraud and theft. Roles and Responsibilities
Two Case Manager (CM) positions are available. One position requires fluency in Kannada and Hindi, while the other requires fluency in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Both positions are based in Bangalore. Preference will be given to candidates proficient in multiple South Indian languages along with Hindi.
The Case Managers will be handling calls on the India Labour Line to help provide information, and legal counselling to the informal sector and to register labour dispute cases. More specifically, their role will entail the following:
- Answering calls coming into India Labour Line, providing first counselling and advice to workers
- Documentation of basic information and facts related to the workers’ case.
- Engaging with employers / contractors and encouraging them to join the mediation process.
- Conducting mediation between workers and employers /contractors.
- Issuing legal notices and representations on behalf of aggrieved workers
- Follow up on issues registered by workers and referring cases to concerned departments and NGO networks.
- Report writing, data handling and related documentation
Desired Skills & Experience
- The ideal candidate should have the willingness to attend and make calls continuously.
- The ability to counsel workers and engage with employers calmly in high stress situations and have good listening skills and patience in dealing with workers.
- Mediation and conflict resolution skills to resolve disputes and conflicts between workers and employers / contractors.
- Experience of working in labour and other rights based civil society organisation programmes / projects will be a major advantage.
- The programme requires and expects that the Case Managers will enhance their skills and competence by studying labour laws, Labour policies and schemes, as well as other resources on labour issues. Capacity Building training and resources will be provided.
- Basic computer skills for data updates and documentation purposes is mandatory. Basic Excel skills are essential.
Language proficiencies: We are looking for two Case Managers:
- Case Manager – Kannada: Fluency in Kannada and Hindi is essential and familiarity with one or two south Indian languages is desirable.
- Case Manager – Tamil & Telugu: Fluent in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi is essential familiarity with one or two south Indian languages is desirable –
- Please note that the ability to read and write basic English is mandatory.
The remuneration for the Case Managers will be in the range of Rs. 3 – 3.5 lakhs p.a –this is negotiable based on the applicants’ competence and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
HR Management:
Oversee recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding of new employees.

Monitor organizational progress, evaluate core indicators, and provide critical feedback on partnerships and progress in different verticals.
Plan and coordinate organizational events and workshops to promote employee interaction and professional growth.
Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related fields.
4–6 years of experience in HR, organizational development, or training roles.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience in talent management.
Experience with leadership development programs and a research-oriented mindset.
Proficiency in designing learning programs and familiarity with LMS platforms.
Cultural competency and inclusivity, with the ability to work across diverse cultures and backgrounds. Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic.
Remuneration
Salary: ₹ 6 -6.6 Lakhs p.a (commensurate with experience and NGO standards in Rajasthan).

Position Overview
We are seeking a Pune-based Coordinator to lead and strengthen our legal aid and rights education efforts with migrant worker communities. In Pune, Aajeevika works extensively with migrants employed in construction, small-scale manufacturing, and recycling industries. The position focuses on casework, legal literacy, and long-term improvements in labour rights, with a special emphasis on vulnerable groups, including women workers.
The ideal candidate is a young, committed legal professional with a passion for social justice, especially in labour rights. Experience in labour law, court representation in Pune, and advocacy is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Casework & Mediation
- Conduct mediation in wage and accident-related disputes
- Issue legal notices and rigorously follow up on pending cases
- Lead weekly legal aid sessions at the field centres.

- Prepare and support legal claims in labour courts
- Represent or coordinate representation of workers before relevant authorities

- Degree in Law (LL.B. or higher); enrollment with Bar Council preferred

- Commitment to field-based, community-centric legal work

The Regional Coordinator (North) will be part of the India Labour Line’s leadership team to oversee and mentor the operations of the India Labourline in North India. They will provide the conceptual and operational leadership to the India Labourline as it becomes a national movement across multiple states and cities.
The specific roles associated with the post of Regional Coordinator are as follows:
(a) Management and administration of the India Labour Line operations including implementation of its expansion plans.
(b) Supporting the central operations of the India Labour Line. Quality control and monitoring of data and information coming to the helpline.
(c) Managing and Tracking the MIS data and ensuring quick resolution of cases registered. Tracking and oversight of critical cases for speedy resolution.
(d) Support the field teams to ensure that the Standard Operating Procedure for case resolution is being followed.
(e) Guiding and mentoring ILL’s field teams held by various CSOs across regions
(f) Networking and liaison with labour organisers, CSOs and lawyers in order to assure swift responses to distressed workers calling in from various part of the country.
(g) Relationship management with CSO partners holding the field teams. Networking with labour rights organisations in the region for greater visibility of ILL.
(h) Represent ILL in relevant forums and bring its experience to various platforms of policy significance.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a senior colleague to fill a leadership role to manage and upscale the India Labour Line agenda. An ideal candidate will:
l Hold a Post Graduate degree with training in law, labour studies, social work, development, management or related field. People with Graduate degree but significant experience & knowledge in the area of labour & migration will be considered.
l 5 to 10 years of work experience in the development sector, with preferably at least 2 to 3 years experience on the issue of labour, migration or legal aid.
l The applicants must be interested and passionate about workers’ rights, legal protection and social justice.
l Individuals with experience of managing and guiding large and multi-location field teams are likely to fare well in this role.
l The role requires a strong people orientation, administrative experience and a proven ability to nurture teams.
l Strong communication skills including the ability to write good quality reports is essential. The role will require fulfilling donor reporting requirements.
l A good grasp and comfort with data and technology is essential for this role.
Location & Travel: The position is based in Delhi but considerable travel to network and liaise with state teams will be needed. Professional connections and past / current experience of work in these geographies would be a big plus.
Salary: 9 to 10.5 lakhs p.a. depending on experience & qualifications. Somewhat higher salary may be considered for exceptionally experienced candidates.
